Julia Thank you for your description of your writing process, especially the yellow pads of paper and the pens. These are details I somehow relate to, and will probably never forget.

D.A. Lee I can completely relate to doing your best work at night, also it's great to know you can find time to write because your words have always been inspirational.

D.J. Howard Your last paragraph really resonated with me as a writer. "Finally, as much as I love books and reading in new voices, I actually didn’t do a lot of reading while I was writing. Part of that is because I have to avoid excuses to procrastinate. But part of that is because, when I’m reading books, particularly ones I’m enjoying, I can get swept up in their voice. I can hear them in my head. And I wanted to avoid that while trying to write my own..." As much as I love reading, setting other books aside to make my characters' voices and my voice come alive in my novel, Schooled in Silence by D. J. Howard, was a necessity. The affirmation that your process is similar, was music to my ears. This isn't something many writers will admit.

Sandra I purchased your book yesterday. I am so looking forward to reading it. How do you have time to write a book of this length, spend time with Michelle, and all the other things you do?

Sue As a former writing teacher, I am thrilled you shared your technique. Knowing how well it works, I will pass it on. Thank you Mr. President.
