Yes, Shakespeare is paramount. Harold Bloom's Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human, got me going.
And write in a scene with the friar, after he leaves Juliet in the tomb, saying, " I dare no longer stay." What kind of adult is he here, when he should be helping, he runs.
