if you could have anyone you wanted who would be your top picks for Royce and Hadrian?
You know I get asked this a lot...and to be honest I prefer not to answer. There are several reasons for this.
1. The actors I wanted "back in the day when I wrote the books are all too old because I started this whole thing more than a decade ago.
2. I'm not that "up" on who the various actors are. From time to time I'll see a movie and go, "Oh that guy could be Hadrian, but I don't know who it is...and don't bother to look it up.
3. I like readers to be able to come to their own conclusions without my picks influencing them too much.
All that being said...I can tell you who I think I would have liked "back in the day." For Hadrian it probably would have been Mel Gibson - long before he went off the deep end. For Royce it would have been Jeremy Irons - especially how I remember him from The Man in the Iron Mask.
I hate to burden you with additional work, but I would vote both
