I'm in a classical kick these days, so of that list i'll go with the Strauss! Also, i like this Pass It Along of asking other authors questions when you yourself are asked one. :D
In real life I am a classical music person. While living in NYC most of my life, theater was my first choice, but since moving to CA music has filled that gap. LA audiences seem to favor musicals and Broadway extravaganzas, while I prefer dramas and classics.
My favorite concert series is Le Salon de Musiques chamber music, which is in a salon style format--very nineteenth century. Disney Hall's Philharmonic, and then the Ambassador, which is closer to home with acoustics like Carnegie Hall. At the moment I am listening to and learning about Mahler.
Do you have a hometown orchestra?
P.S.I need to add more authors to my list in order to ask questions. Some don't seem to have that option on their pages.
I do. I live in the Triangle area of the NC piedmont (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill), and the NC Symphony is based here. I actually got tickets to see their upcoming "Eroica" for Christmas! Very excited.
GORGEOUS!
Have a great evening tonight. All the best of times and creativity in the new year, Rachel.
