Some authors will churn out one book after another using the same characters as long as people are willing to buy the books, so I admire your artistic integrity.

This is why those with an artistic temperament are difficult employees...I am unable to motivate them to do what I want. I'm like that...my craft is more important to me than any job I hold.

I'm not sure it's integrity so much as a low boredom threshold. :-)

Personally, I'd love to see a story where Jin and Mina appear along with Miles and Ekaterin's kids. ('Vorkosigans: The Next Generation.') The question is, how to get them on the same planet at the same time . . .

Who says they have to be "kids"? I'm sure all of us fans could put our favorite grand ideas together. Lois, what do you call your...is it muse? Inspiration? How does the writing come to you?

With Lois' stories, it's not just the feeling that we miss and want to repeat though. It's the characters - old friends - who we at least want to catch glimpses of.

My Vorkosigan story idea is for Miles to go visit the dear Viceroy and Vicerene of Sergyar (when Aral is still alive, hopefully) and some problem comes up, mortal or otherwise, that he need to solve for his Emperor and his Da. I want to see what Sergyar looks like colonized, not to mention more Cordelia.
