Do you have any recourse?
Writers and publishers have been whacking at these moles for centuries. It's only in the last one or two that any real legal recourse has been available.
It's only a small consolation that most of those sites are infested with malware -- in fact it's sometimes the real purpose behind the popular books being offered.
Would you also consider licencing Penric to Kobo? I have a Kobo ereader and they can't read Epubs from Nook or Apple as these have proprietory DRMs. I want to pay for the book, but at the moment have no means of reading it on my ereader!! I have bought Epubs from Baen previously, but a lot of the Penric books aren't available from here.
Talli Ruksas But I'd be the one punished when I was just trying to check the spelling of Akylaxio (less)
We could do something about that piece, at least. The chalion.fandom.com site is sadly neglected by myself at least in part because my hands aren't up to large amounts of typing any more. If it got articles (even tiny stubs), it could grow into a proper resource like the vorkosigan site has managed to become.
I'm afraid I'm not a good choice for a chalion site either. I'm in love with Penric et al but only in like with the rest. And the arthritis in my hands isn't helpful.
@Kate: If you use Calibre as your library tool on your computer, you can open and read almost all types of ebooks on your screen. This is not as comfy as your reader, but possible. There are also certain tools that might help you to transfer Kindle-formats into epubs, but here we are talking about hacking the DRM. It's possible, but not legal.
