I recommend adding Lois as a friend first, makes things a bit easier. Rather send her a friend request, but she is very generous with the "friends" category on goodreads. And then it is a straightforward Messages (envelope icon in the top right corner of your every page in goodreads), and a not very obvious "compose" button... then type "Lois Bujold" in the recipients box and there you are.... presented with a blank box to type your most personal thoughts for Lois. Good luck!
I loved your Sharing Knife series too, and one scene has stuck with me despite the 12+ intervening years - Dag is about to throw something to Fawn and instead of saying "catch" he says "watch". Believe it or not my catching skill has improved outta sight since reading that passage! 😂
@ Brzk -- Yeah, when I first joined Goodreads I was uncertain how to triage "friend" requests. After some initial clumsiness, I eventually decided it would be more efficient to just friend all who asked, and delete any later that turned out to be a problem. It has worked so far...

@ Leonie -- Yeah, I picked up that trick from some presentation I was at decades ago, where the speaker had a volunteer from the audience who said he was bad at catching, and indeed, after a couple of fumbling demo tries, it was obviously so. Then he told the fellow to watch the stitching turning on the ball as it came at him, and, lo, his hand went right to it... enlightening moment for both of us.
