Personal reactions to fiction are of course very subjective. There are some good books involving Miles, but he's not really one of my favourite characters, though it may seem heresy to say so here. I like better the characters we've seen in the World of the Five Gods.
5GU is my favorite, too, but that's mostly because my taste for fantasy is stronger than my taste for SF, I think. More generally, I'll happily read whatever Her Ladyship wants to write!
I'm a huge Miles fan myself. I must have read that series at least a dozen times.
