Brzk I am mulling over:

“The really unforgivable acts are committed by calm men in beautiful green silk rooms, who deal death wholesale, by the shipload, without lust, or anger, or desire, or any redeeming emotion to excuse them but cold fear of some pretended future. But the crimes they hope to prevent in that future are imaginary. The ones they commit in the present — they are real.”

J.M. Ney-Grimm It was Elena. I love that "world of possibilities" concept and explanation too. :D

Eric Brzk, that is an amazing quote. I had completely forgotten about it; you just gave me chills. Time to go back and reread everything!

Brzk Yes! Most things I know and the most accurate of them - I owe to Lois. In times of crisis this is what I fall back on. When in real doubt, consult her.

Karenhunt Elena, in Memory, talking to Miles and recalling her time re-visiting her former home during Mirror Dance (about midway through chapter 2)

Carol Reich Rich browsing is available on Lois's Wikiquote page.

Karenhunt Huh. That page is both better and worse than I guessed at first. Very rich for the stories it covers (and reasonably good for out-of-book quotes), but entirely missing the Penric tales and very little in The Sharing Knife...

message 8: by Carol (new)

Carol Reich I added Penric and Desdemona quotes to WikiQuote after a recent re-read of the series.
