Petri Peltonen Oh yes, you were the Guest of Honour at the Finncon 2012 in Tampere, if I recall correctly.

But Capt. Tuomonen et al. appeared much earlier already. Also, the island kingdom of Arfrastpekka in The Hallowed Hunt felt somehow Finnish, at least the -pekka part, as Pekka is a common Finnish surname. As a Finn, it is always nice to find such little tidbits. :)

Talli Ruksas Did you get to the zoo in Helsinki? It's on an island so you have to take a boat

Marie Oh, I have only listened to this as an audiobook and parsed it as an Asian/Chinese name (as well as Ekaterine's late husband, but as I google it I realize Etienne's name is probably of French origin.). The audio pronounciation didn't put me in the Finnish direction. (Not Finnish, not speaking Finnish. Just Swedish.)
