Virginia I think I am missing the point of the old joke, too…? Is there a joke about fathers or winter hidden in the groundhog seeing its shadow?

Lois Bujold No, there is a joke about six weeks being the duration of half-a-quarter. The whole of the joke went, If the groundhog sees its shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter, but if it does not, winter will hang on for a month and a half. (Or possibly the other way around; I disremember.)

Ta, L.
