Ok! And these do not contain The Riyria Chronicles 1.5 and 2.5 right?
Michelle...the short stories usually are (a) standalone and (b) written with some other purpose in mind. For instance the Jester was written for The Unfettered Anthology and it's not included in any of the novels above. It can be read at any time and it has no spoilers.
The first short I wrote "The Viscount and the Witch" I wrote to be a little "gift" to Riyria fans who were in limbo as the self-published books were removed from the market and the new book hadn't yet started shipping. When I wrote it, I didn't intend it to grow into a series - but it did. It tells how Royce and Hadrian met Albert Winslow and because he is featured in the The Rose and the Thorn that short story made it's way into the novel. It's the second chapter of that book.
Rebecca - yep, I'm writing it now and it is coming out really well. I never know if there will be another one, I basically put one out then take the temperature to see if people still want more. About a year after The Rose and the Thorn, it became apparent that a third would be warranted. I'll do a similar process after releasing the third.
If you are interested in being informed about the Kickstarter (I'm trying to raise funds for a hardcover release) there is a sign-up list you can access here.
