Thank-you so much! Yes, I've read and loved LOR, the Hobbit, Farmer Giles of Ham. Tree and Leaf , etc, and I'm a huge fan of Georgette Heyer, so I'll pick The Thief for the challenge. Again, many thanks! I'm just about to order Knife Children, I think that is the only one of your books I haven't read yet.
What an astonishing answer! OK. Normally I read scifi, but now I must try Cotillion. :) Hey, I liked Bridgerton... :)
Super helpful (I'm also doing the challenge), and Heyer has been recommended to me many times but this will give me a push to read her stuff.
I am thrilled to see you mention a Georgette Heyer! It's difficult to pick a favorite of hers, but I love Venetia and for humor, The Talisman Ring. For history, you can't beat An Infamous Army. Yes, several titles on my "first tier."
A remarkable number of science fiction and fantasy readers, and writers, are stealth, or not so stealth, Heyer fans. Larry Niven and Dave Freer, to name two of the more unlikely suspects.
@ Ginger, Gail: Heyer is what Bridgerton, and the whole of the rest of the Regency romance genre, are copies of; grandmother of them all. (With, admittedly, Jane Austin as great-grandmother.)

I actually can't think of a more satisfying ending in the (literally) thousands of books I have read than the ending of Cotillion. Starting from the comings and goings at Cousin Hugh's.
