Have you visited any of the towns in Poland that your family came from? If you’re looking for inspiration, it’s a very haunting place. For World War 2 reasons, obviously, but they have great fairy tales and folklore.
I'd buy a speculative version of your family history in a heartbeat.
Surely this would be an incredible episode of “Who do you think you are” etc type shows!

I would love to see your ancestry mystery solved on "Finding Your Roots"!
It sounds as enchanting as the stories woven around the disappearance of Joseph Koljaiczek (Oskar's grandfather in The Tin Drum). They might have gone to America, found their fortune and became rich together, who knows! 😂
I regret asking my parents deeper questions before their past and their parents past. Some pictures that came to the surface after have no context.
This would be a great puzzle for the "Finding Your Roots" team.
