Thank you so much for your enlightening and thoughtful response! I am a Children's Librarian, so this is particularly helpful to me in a professional sense. I too was a hearty swearer as a kid, so you'll get no argument from me on that score. I think a lot of people underestimate children's capacity for understanding complex issues, and I appreciate your refusal to dumb things down.
