The corollary would be to wonder if Des is still out there somewhere and if she is, is the shadow of Pen haranguing her to keep writing? Or is there a limit on the number of lived a demon can acquire?
I can't help thinking Ista and Des would get on like a house on fire. Possibly literally...
What a wonderful thought! When I was rereading Paladin of Souls recently I also thought about Pen and Des, but that never crossed my mind :)
