Jerri I love these characters. I also very much enjoyed Knife Children, and do see why the plot of that novella was enhanced by Barr ending up being forced to skip the "easy" solution, of taking his daughter to Dag and Fawn's.

But I also missed getting a chance to see the extended family at Clearcreek, it would have been a delight to catch up with all of them, plus meet the new additions. But one can't get everything, and you wrote a very enjoyable and thought provoking tale.

Rita I love this series and would appreciate any sequels or shorts you care to add!

Lois Bujold @ Jerri -- I was totally planning to take the pair to Clearcreek, but it became plain as things developed that their real plot was waiting at Pearl Riffle. So, rerouted by authorial fiat. Or, more correctly, story-need fiat.

Ta, L.

Jerri Lois, thank you for replying to my comment, and explaining part of your story process. I am happy that the folks at Clearcreek were enough in Barr's thoughts that I could know that they were alive and doing well. If not, Barr's thoughts about them would have been quite different.
