Nick Gloaming I held off reading The Shepherd's Crown for a long time, and when I finally was ready to read it I thought it would be cathartic, but mostly I just found it sad that it was so unpolished. It's interesting to have access to what amounts to an early draft of his last novel, but it isn't the swan song for Discworld I had hoped for.

Jonathan Palfrey I’m afraid I haven’t even bought The Shepherd’s Crown, partly because it seems sad, and partly because I think he was going into decline towards the end. Going Postal in 2004 was the last really good Discworld book.

I buy everything by Ben Aaronovitch; he doesn’t suit me perfectly, but he comes close enough. My other favourite authors tend to have more varied outputs, and I don’t guarantee to buy everything they write.

Sandy Lois- You mention you would like having your work done in an animation medium, Are there any graphic novel versions of your works? If so that would be great to see! A lot of books are finding new life as graphic novels, the babysitter's club series for instance (which then also became a live action series).

Lois Bujold Well, I can't draw, so any graphic versions of my books would have to be up to someone else. I'm certainly not against the idea. I have an agent...

There was a French attempt to do The Warrior's Apprentice some years back, 3 volumes planned but only one finished, because sales did not support.

Peter Lawson @lois, you might try Charles Stross, his Laundry Files and Merchant Princes series are excellent

Lois Bujold Have read some of the Laundry Files, enjoyed as far as I got, though horror is not my usual reading bag. They had just enough redeeming humor to get past my barriers.

Peter Lawson Try the Merchant Princes then, no horror, all economic science fiction. An interesting alternate world setup
