Another parallel I have noticed between the Pen/Des books and the Sharing Knife books is that the way Inglis makes use of his blood in Penric and the Shaman reminds me of the way Fawn and Dag make use of her blood in making their marriage cords, in both cases the fact that the blood remains "alive" for a time after leaving the body and still is unique to the donor is important. And both Fawn and Inglis seem to have developed their use of blood by instinct.
