Kisa Thank You for keeping us posted! I know I am impatient for the next books, but I also know how much I would rather you be happy them than trying to squeeze something out just to satisfy a date. I know another writer and I wish I could say the publishing industry is better elsewhere but it seems it is not because they are also struggling with how they are being treated.
Thank You for the love and work you are putting into this world and the characters. And above all, please look after yourself too. <3

Reem First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to reply, you are so sweet!! And I understand, we'll try to wait more patiently, just be careful crossing the street😂😂 I know it must be frustrating!!!
I've made a new friend recently, fangirling about your AMAZING books lol.

And ohmygod, dragons!!! I read The Eidolon so I know that's a thing that's coming and can hardly wait!! Also, I don't mind spoilers! At all!

PS. sorry to say this, but I kind of want to slap your publishers!! They should appreciate you more, but maybe they're also fans and can't wait to see what happens next 😂😂😂?

Missjoanie Hi KD, love your books but wellbeing comes first. Take care

Justacat I remember reading in an Ask Me Anything with you on Reddit two years ago that November 2023 was a “hard outside date” for the next book, which is why I had definitely been expecting it before May 2024! Because of a number of experiences that we probably all are familiar with, I have an I’ll believe it when it’s in my hand attitude toward fantasy series, but I do very much hope this one continues because it is one of my favorites, and I’m glad you seem so committed to it. I could perhaps do with less kid presence, as they seem to be taking on an increasingly large role and I’m not as interested in them, but I’m sure there are many people who disagree with me.

Truthfully what worries me the most is that Josh Hurley won’t be available to do the audiobooks (which are the only format I “read”). I can’t imagine these characters with a different narrator - he has shaped them for me!

Mikou Thanks for the update! I love your books so, of course, I'm eager for "Misfits Caravan". However, I wasn't even expecting it until next year.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your publisher and hope that it gets better. Speaking only for myself, I have hope that you can finish it to your satisfaction and that we readers can get it as soon as possible and I harbor no anger or ill will towards you, especially since you actually communicate with us and, I have yet to see you make any unrealistic promises. Be well!

Mak So I no longer believe we'll get to read all nine books. At the current rate it would be 2046 before we got book nine. Yeah, no, I'm not naive enough to believe that. I'm just mad at myself for starting yet another unfinished series. Total bummer.

Ashley Gotz Your response to the question was so sweet and relatable that I started to tear up ;-;
I'm rooting for your success and am wishing for good things to come your way.

Matty PS - Oh, and my tentative working title for Book 7 is "Atlantis Reborn." I've been playing with a lot of words like reborn. And resurrection.”
Omfg you just gave me chillsssss. I cannot wait

C W As a new reader who has ABSORBED everything you wrote in a matter of a single (holiday) week, I'm still struggling to adjust my emotions while having - of course - started re-reading the first book. Please know that for the people who matter most to you - your readers - TIME is not of the essence (especially after the last book, right?..right?!). I'm having a Brand moment right now, reading that you are pressured and made feel guilty about your progress by publishers, -- it really makes me want to storm up to them and tell them exactly what I think of that. But I think I might channel my inner-Brand fury into the opposite: Telling you how important it is to take the time YOU need to create this wonderful, wonderful world you have decided to share with us. I am so endlessly thankful for you, and you doing that. While reading I realized that this series will be officially pushing my all-time number one favorite series (Nightrunner) from its long-hold pedestral. With ease. With f**ing ease. That's so incredible. I don't mind waiting years for my next fix, I'm happy re-reading and re-reading and re-reading (thats a vow, huh?) all the wonderfull things you have published so far if it means you will go on creating and sharing this world with so much detail, with so much wit, with so much genius plotting. So please, take your time. Please, do not feel bad about yourself. The way you had and have approached all - this - is the reason why it is so effin fantastic and fabulous.
