Jonathan Palfrey I’m glad of anything you feel like creating: novels, novellas, whatever. I find I rather like novellas; in the old days I didn’t seem to come across many of them, and they tended to be tossed into a volume with a bunch of short stories. But these days they seem more common and can be sold as separate e-books, which is nice.

(Though I also comment that quite a few stories sold as novels in the old days would probably be counted novellas these days.)

Lois Bujold @ Jonathan --

Yep, this is a market-driven, or perhaps technology-driven, change. Back in the day, there was little room for novellas in the few paper magazines, and they could not be marketed as full-sized books. E-publishing has changed both constraints. Commerce and art, a perpetual symbiosis...

Nathan Thanks for your reply! Like the other guy said, whatever you want to create is more than good enough. You’ve definitely earned your right to kick back and relax after creating the massive oeuvre you have! I didn’t realize that Assassins was a full length so that’s something to look forward too :) But I’m loving the shorter-form Penric stories just as much.
