Reader4Life This is an excellent, thoughtful explanation. Thank you so very much for taking the time to provide these details!

Jake Schafer Thank you for such an in-depth answer! My gut feeling was that it was publisher pressure, and I'm glad that's confirmed. Maybe you should sneak the old names in somehow, I really liked them.

Dawn Morales Interesting to learn on how it works.

message 4: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Minor correction, Brandon Sanderson's book is "The Hero of Ages", not Age of Hero.

Steven Ede wow ... who would have thought all that thought process went in to creating a title!

message 6: by Grant (new)

Grant 'Age of Legends' makes me think of the Wheel of Time, given that it's a fairly strong theme in that series. Looking forward to this series!

Michael @Reader4Life - you are welcome.

@Jake - I'm not sure I would say it's completely "Publisher's pressure." They raised some valid points and I did what I could to address them. To me "publisher pressure" is when they ignore my names and come back and say, "These are the new names of the books, hope you like them, but if you don't, too bad it's our call." That didn't happen.

Michael @Dawn - yes there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff to publishing that you learn about once you get signed.

Michael @Daniel ah - yes you are correct - but either way I was afraid people might think I'm trying to ride his coattails.

@Steven - titles are very important - yes A LOT of thought process goes on behind the scenes.

@Grant - I've not read Wheel of Time - so can't really say how much resemblance there is, but I'll take your word for it. Glad you are looking forward to the series.
