As an African American I did not believe I started reading I would be able to have compassion for Lizbeth. Your craftsmanship showed me differently. I have mentioned your book to every friend and family member.

Thank you so much. That's very high praise and means a lot to me. As someone who identifies as "off-white" (my Dad was Arab and my mom was American of European descent), I questioned my right to tell the story of people that were not my ancestors. However I'm passionate abut uprooting systemic racism and I think one important piece is realizing what white people have been taught about race.
