Wow!!!! Thank you so much! Of course, but it sure is special to hear it from the 'Creator'
I love this response.
Jamie has gone just as far (i personally think a bit more if we've read book 1 and seen the first season) to save Claire. That's what they do: do anything to save each other. And get captured plenty of times and sacrifice alot in the process. but they always save each other
(at least, from what I have seen/read so far ^_^)
I love this series, thank you Diana for giving me something amazing to read, look forward to, and escape my thesis from ^_^
If you read MOBY you know what he would do for her f the places were reversed....won't say anymore spoilers...
Any man who is willing to lose someone (and cry when he thinks she gone, IE send her back through the stones (book 1)) is a man who would do ANYTHING to get her back and save her. I think we all wish for a love like Claire and Jamie's.
I am so confused, I am reading Written in My Own Hearts Blood now, if that what MOBY is supposed to mean, Sharlene Wohlever?
Claire came to Wentworth to save Jamie from hanging, but was caught and threatened by Black Jack. Jamie agreed to submit to Black Jack in Wentworth prison, a fate worse than death, to save Claire. So Claire saved him, and then healed him. Their marriage is very equal that way.
Cassandra- yes Written in My Own Hearts Blood is MOBY (think M for my O for own and the H is silent and B for Blood = M O B) a little convoluted, but that's what it is.
I've devoured them all! Twice! And looking forward to the third time. In fact, I have also read all the Lord John books twice. I think.
Jamie is the ultimate protector, there is no way he would leave her. I'm not sure what scene you are on, but he proves his devotion and commitment to keeping her safe.
I think this is a very fair question, especially for a new reader of the Outlander tales. It's something Jamie and Claire both struggled with, as have many couples. Of course, Diana knows Jamie better than any of us; but, at that point in their relationship, I'm not sure Jamie could have gotten over Claire's rape or, even less so, over her offering herself in the manner he did. These stories don't take place in the twenty-first century and Jamie, while less of a misogynist than many of his contemporaries, is a product of his own time. Women were blamed for the abuses they experienced, and still are in many places.
Um.. how is this even a question!! He would have stopped at NOTHING! He's demonstrated this time and time again.
While it's a fair question for someone new to the Outlander universe, as always Diana's response is gold and most definitely made me giggle.
While the response made me laugh, I felt bad for the questioner, who is a new reader. No reason to shame for a perfectly reasonable question.
Not shaming anybody. "Oh, come on" is a perfectly reasonable response to an obvious question. (Even if you've only read OUTLANDER once, you _do_ know the answer to that.) I don't mind being asked obvious questions, no matter what the motive behind them (and I answered that one, did I not?)--but I'm only human...
