I absolutely agree with you. I can't even fathom why Henry dealt with the aged Margaret Pole in such a despicable manner as described so well in your books. She posed absolutely no threat to that unstable, cruel man. Henry's lust for power was even larger than his waist band. Margaret Pole was centered on her family. Henry viewed human life as a disposable inconvenience.
The Kings Curse was my favourite book in the Cousins series. What happened to the Plantagenet family under the rule of the Tudors was simply horrendous....I really enjoyed reading about this remarkable woman and her family. Thank you Ms Gregory.
Hi Philippa, I am a Stafford, My family , my Great gggGrt Grandparents all feature in your books, which I am reading at the moment.. They are all in the trees that you have at the front of your books....I am half way through the kings curse, , about Henry V111, he was very cruel, and had my Grt Grandfather Edward Duke of Buckingham beheaded for no reason at all, just to get his hands on the vast estates that he owned, and all his fine possessions, he stole them, and the family never recovered from it..., Castles, and manors across England and Wales and Ireland.., works of Art, fine antiques, he lost everything to this king, I feel so angry about it, how they used to just take what they wanted, and kill people off because of greed and power...Henry V11 is also my 13th Great Grandfather through an illegitimate son, john Thomas Perrot, with Lady Mary Anne Berkeley, she was one of his mistresses...He did do the right thing and gave him titles and riches, making sure he was well educated ...Now when I see the Castles, and the riches, the homes that are in the hands of the royal family, who are related to me, I feel some disgust, as I know much of it was not gained legally...and think about what they did to get their hands on it...Ursula Pole is my 14th Great Grandmother, John of Gount is my 19th great Grandfather, as is Thomas of Woodstock, all go back to Edward 111...My 27th Great Grandfather is William the conqueror, and Rollo Duke of Normandy is my 32nd Great grandfather, and Charlemagne is my 37th Great Grandfather...I have traced my direct ancestry, to the Viking kings of Scandinavia, 200AD, and also to the erly kings of Wales and Scotland, and to the Royal families of Europe and Jerusalem...It is the most amazing tree....It is so lovely to be able to read about them, bring them closer , in your books..To know my history, my amazing family...
Kind regards
Jennifer Stafford Hall.
