I'm happy to see that you like crime/mystery novels best--so do I, but often feel "looked down upon" when I say so. My favorite authors are Josephine Tey, Dick Francis, and Elizabeth George (another American who writes about Great Britain and keeps me waiting impatiently for her next novel ! WHY can't y'all write as fast as I read? Have you ever met Elizabeth, and if so, did you talk about writing an extended series?
PS the Isle of Skye is my favorite place on earth--and I feel more at home there than at any place I've ever lived. So intense is my feeling of belonging there, that I'd probably try walking through the stones (but the closest ones are on the Isle of Lewis, so that doesn't appeal to me very much).
I often wish you would write a novella set on Skye, or one of those side pieces whose sobriquet I can't remember just now (I'm 82 and losing names/nouns fast--I'll think of it tonight). After all, Prince Charlie WAS saved by smuggling him to Skye, so it would fit in with your themes. Please think about it!
