I am glad you mentioned Bernard Cornwell. I am going to read The last kingdom this month so that I can be ready for the tv series
I'm considering re-reading all of his Saxon Tales if I can find the time. I'll at least begin with The Last Kingdom. I hope the tv series continues through all the books!!!
