All I can do is offer my deepest sympathies, but if the dementia is accompanied by weird symptoms (such as brittle bones) then it might be a form where limited reversal is possible. My father spent a lifetime studying the effects of environmental chemistry, mostly on the brain. It's a depressing area, but absolutely any of his research you think might be valuable to you or your husband is research I'll make sure you get.
