What's a shame with the VA series, as with a lot of series with an intricate mythology, is that it always has to lay down the groundwork underlying the world (and the world building in VA is so great) that I think it sometimes turns people off in screen form and they get impatient and/or confused (because we apparently have the attention span of gnats now) I really hope they decide to give the second book a shot, because I have a feeling it would be so much better than the first (and I much enjoyed the first, btw; my BF even found the mythology fascinating and now he wants to read the series) because the groundwork has already been laid and it can jump straight to the action. I also thought Zoey pulled off Rose so, so well - she was an excellent casting choice.
i read the series after seeing the movie too , love it and loved the books more.but the cast are very good chosen zoey and danila really portrayed the book characters . hope we can see another movie with the same actors
