Deborah Berning Any recommendations of books that are similar to the John Ceepak novels?

Chris If you like the West, the Walt Longmire mysteries by Craig Johnson are good. And just about anything by Robert Crais -- start with The Monkey's Raincoat

Marie Claude I have read Ring Toss before reading Free Fall... it was really a case of keeping it as long as I could ;o)

Marie Claude The Crais' novels are really good and Pike is as "straight" as Ceepak. Can't wait for the next one :)

Marie Claude Deborah, if you enjoyed the vacation setting and feel of the Ceepac series, take a look at Vicki Delany's Molly Smith series. The feel is really different, but they are set in a town at the bottom of a ski station. So they have a lot of "out-of-towners" and battle against resort developpers to keep their way of life. And Molly Smith being a Young constable, there is the new on the job feeling
