I was picturing Cossacks trousers - but I like your point that it really doesn't matter. (I had to Google "Palazzo pants" just now).
I've imagined palazzos for the most part. Surely the harem pants are for quaddiespace? But now I intend to imagine hakama. High waists, many pleats, very warm for Komarr's cold domes.
