Jessica Hansen Hurricane winds can reach/cause weather changes to Midwest, but the Midwest can also face what is called a derecho, which is an inland hurricane.
Look up the August 2020 Derecho - covered 5 midwest states with straight line winds reaching up to 140 mphs
