I buy only e-books these days; I think I’ve lost interest in paper books.
The audio version of Demonic Ox is out at Audible already. I have listened to it twice so far. Grover Gardener did a great job, as usual! I second the comment above, I but ebooks and/or audiobooks, only buy paper used or when digital isn't available, or picture books for kids.
The Penric books are the only fiction books I buy in physical media these days, mostly for the reliquary effect of a signed-by-author book. Plus it gets more money in the author's pocket.
@ CV: Actually, my indie ebooks put the most in my pocket. But any sale is a good one, and the reader should put their reading comfort first!

I believe that for all of the Penric works, I have purchased the Kindle version first and the Audible soon after it becomes available. Then, for the tiny public library where I volunteer, I purchase the complilation volumes when they become available and donate them. I am afraid that the limited edition hardbacks are out of my price range for doing the donation. I also donated the other series's, or at least most of them. A couple of titles I have donated twice, since the first set "walked away"!
Ms. Bujold. We already have 9 books about Penric from Baen. As I understand the newer ones won't be published by them and also, how do you mean to publish yourself on demand collection? All of the novellas or only the late ones?
@ Svyatoslav --
I'm only still mulling about this idea yet, it's not a live project. (For one thing, I want to see _Two Tales_ results first, and it's not even out yet.) If we did this, I'd pick up after the Baen collections. I've already assembled the compilations for regular foreign rights submissions, though so far most foreign publishers have been buying the stories ala carte.
So far it's _Penric's Intrigues_, containing the novel-length _The Assassins of Thasalon_ plus "Knot of Shadows"; and _Penric's Lessons_, containing "Demon Daughter", "Penric and the Bandit", and "The Adventure of the Demonic Ox". Any further volumes would require 3 more novellas, or some combo of tales adding up to about the same word count. (And also another title of the form _Penric's [plural noun].)
Not a high priority project right now.
