Angelica But, doesn't it get frustrating sometimes while your writing a book and you feel like it's boring. I feel like this when I started writing my book. Do you know how to get rid of this feeling?

Eileen Oh yes- a thousand times yes. There are times I want to beat my head on the desk because I'm so frustrated. The story just won't work or I suddenly realize that I don't even know where it is going anymore and even I hate the stupid thing. This is what kept me from finishing books for a really long time. I would start projects, but then they would turn bad and I would abandon them and start something else.

I am not sure you can get rid of the feeling (sorry) but I do know that some of the best advice I got was that you can't fix a blank page. I tell myself that it is okay if the story isn't great - that I just need to finish it. Once it is done it is easier to see what is working or not and make some changes. The only way to learn to write is to write- and that means accepting sometimes what we write isn't going to be as good as we want it to be.

The worst thing you can do is to compare your rough draft to someone else's published and polished book. Of course their's is better! But you can get better and you will.

Happy writing.
