rivka There are quite a number of girls and women in the world with the first name Tzippy or Tsippi, so I'm not so sure what's "unfortunate" about the name Tsipis -- other than containing a sound that is only used in English as a middle or ending syllable, never as a leading one.

Nicholas Blas because if you mispronounce properly it sounds like "Sip Piss".

Carol Sorry, Nicholas, it sounds to me like it's your personal problem, not an unfortunate choice.

Howard Brazee Virtually every child has had another child make fun of his name.

Caroline It's pronounced pretty much the way it looks. You pronounce both the 't'and the 's' together, the first 'i' is short (like in 'wish'), and the second can be either short or more like an Italian 'i' (like the ee in 'meet' or the ea 'ea' in 'east'). So either Tsipis, or Tsipees.
