While this is true, from my experience, in many other settings, vat-meat has implications of being Yet Another Consequence Of Technology Destroying Our Way Of Life, while in the Vorkosiverse, it has rather more positive, moving-towards-progress connotations.

I suppose an underlying question is, how does it feel to know that your books may be one of the various factors that contribute to the acceptance of this new tech into our lives? This unabashed carnivore is certainly more eager to try it due to the influence of your books than I think I would have been without said influence (for the record: Would probably still have been curious, but not actually *excited*).

In the Vorkosiverse vat meat has a progress connotation for the city dwellers. But I wonder what the thoughts of the farmers on Barrayar are? Their livelihood is being taken away and this could quickly turn into an economic calamity.

On a personal note of vat meat ever became the norm I would become a hard core vegetarian!!!
