They'd be wonderful, though.
"Too long" ? Audiobooks are the only way I can get through most of Stephen King's books - and no one says his are "too long" for audio...
I'd be willing to try out as the voice, and would offer to do the lot for free (well, lawyers like nominal amounts, so say $1 per volume). If that doesn't persuade them, Rory still has a typewriter, right? Nastygrams from a dragon should fix things. Hey, it worked wonders for you continuing!
Even if done in instalments? The books could easily be serialised. At any rate, I've recently reread the first four and they were filled with all the magic that made me fall in love with them during the past.
Imagine a nice lyrical Irish voice, it would add an extra dimension.
