Rose The Carrot Counter was a wizard who fell in love with a girl from the normal world and took her down to his world and gave her anything she wanted, using magicked carrots to simulate anything he couldn't make himself. Sadly she was already in love with a boy from her world and tricked him into counting his carrots 'to see if he had enough' while she made her escape. The Carrot Counter didn't exact revenge and is always seen as someone who grants magical wishes to the deserving. I think he often disguises himself as a tailor and he rides a goat? Sound familiar? I think there are multiple legends of him, so probably you just know him by another name. He's pretty cool though! When I was little the two fairy tales of him were my favorites of all time!

K.M. Shea .......That is so SAD!! Poor guy! YES, if I can track down a fairy tale about him I would certainly include him somewhere! No one gets sad endings on my watch!!

Rose Yay! That's awesome!! (He was way cooler than anything like Superman when I was little, and I still think he is pretty much amazing)

Nenna Rose do you remember what country of origin or which book it might have been published in? I've read so many and it's not ringing bells but I REALLY want to read his story now!

Rose I think the origin is Norse, either Swedish or Norwegian, but I don't remember for certain.
