Wow...you would get so cornered you'd have to abandon the entire project? Worst case scenario for me is always having to backpeddle to the nearest crossroad and pick something that's hopefully less of a dead end. Either that or break a few laws of physics to get out.
I am very good at painting myself into a corner (impossible situations) when I imagine stories.
@Katie - yeah I would ... or sometimes I'd just realize that it really wasn't as compelling as I thought while writing it. I'm not saying everyone would have similar problems, but for me, it's so much better to plot out.
