I went to high school with the translator of Bernhard's The Loser. I had a crush on him but ended up dating his brother, who was the good-looking one but now a loser going to early seed. From Bernhard I discovered you. I bought many of your books for the Biblioteca Publica in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, the largest English-language collection in Latin America. Come to Denver sometime for a reading at The Tattered Cover and to do a workshop at Lighthouse Writers Group, I could help set that up for you.
This is going to my account, not Dyers. Perhaps jazz cigarettes are Newports because the Newport logo is the Nike logo upside-down. Way to go, jazz. I met Geoff Dyer in Denver last summer. If you meet him he responds well to being teased. It was fun.
