That really got me when I realized that, soooo good. I've had to have read that book 5 times now. Still trying to find the Good Will Hunting line...
oh, in Mongrels? I forget where exactly it is, but it comes from that part in GWH where Will is talking about his dad laying out two or three things to get beaten with, and Will would just go ahead and pick the wrench—the worst of the three. something in the phrasing of how he tells that, I stole it into Mongrels.
There's something about your books that's so achingly real(at least for me), even the horror. Especially the horror... I don't know. I guess just thanks for writing your stories down, sharing them with the rest of us... I can't even tell you how much I loved Mongrels and Growing up Dead in Texas and The Fast Red Road and Bird and Least of My Scars and Del Rio and Ledfeather and Three Miles Past and all the other ones I haven't read yet or am forgetting to mention right now. Also States of Grace has become the book I always carry with me, rereading stories whenever I get the chance. The Wages: an argument has got to be my favorite... Sorry about rambling on and on, but really great stuff seriously.
