I thought Gregor's DNA would probably be known somehow, though with the little "dodge" in ACC I thought "maaaaaybe somehow no one ever pinned this down..." Anyway when a friend of mine and I discussed alternate paternity theories based on Ezar saying "Nope, Kareen, it's going to be someone else", Aral was the first choice to come up! I came down on the side of Ezar himself because then Gregor would still be the heir as second-son (assuming no pesky other Serg sons), cutting down on potential problems. Thanks so much - I'll keep the AU-theories in the AUs! :) -M
