Not to mention the copy editors, proofreaders, etc... It's a conundrum. I do know that I no longer feel favorably about S&S. In deciding between two books at a bookstore, that one is published by S&S would be a factor in my decision of which book to buy. And part of the decision as to whether to buy a book at full price or check it out of the library or wait for one to show up at a used bookstore. I might feel more positive toward the company were they to manage to issue a statement that said something substantive, rather than the bland committee-approved nonsense they've pawned off on us so far.
