Drew Perron As someone who's been interested in the business for about that long, this is *fascinating*.

Jonathan Palfrey I've been working as a technical writer since 1986, writing documentation in the computer industry, and my work has been written on the computer and paperless from the beginning. For much of this century, most of the output to customers has been paperless too: most of the documentation I write is supplied to customers as PDF or XHTML files, not on paper. If they feel an urge to have it on paper, they can print it themselves. My archive of old projects is stored in a little pile of DVDs.
