Friday In the same vain, I read JDATE (audiobook) at least once a year (usually October, to ease me into my horror season of books), and more when I run out of things I want to read, and for sure when I am depressed, it is, as described above, (among a very few books) a security blanket for me when my nerves are frayed. (Along with the full 13 episodes of the 1990 Anime Za Hakkenden, by AIC and Artmic Studios, which is how I treat serious existential angst and depression, because the lives and fates of the characters are so, so bad, that my life is rainbows and champagne in comparison... I know it's sick, but their suffering makes me feel better)

I am excited that my annual pre-Halloween re-read of JDATE and Spiders will have new, significant meaning as they will be the prep work for What the Hell did I just Read.

Wess Whatley I've probably read JDATE four or five times, more than I've read any other book to be sure. It's my "getting over death anxiety" book, which is probably weird but it works.

Also, Friday, I never considered books to be seasonal... I have to think about this now.
