Have you considered a Patreon page or GoFundMe or some other similar crowdfunding approach to funding the audiobook production? Bands are doing this more and more to put out independent records without a label, and even self-publishing authors. As a lover of audiobooks myself, I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there who would love to chip in to see some of our most beloved books professionally narrated!
