Andrea Smashwords-published self-pubbed books go on Overdrive (though in a partially hidden self-pub section), so that's one way to get them on there with little effort.

Kathy KS Although Overdrive is the only library-oriented source that Amazon allows to have the Kindle format, please consider that many of us choose to use epub readers, rather than the proprietary Kindle. For instance, Kansas library users have free access to ebooks through the State Library using Cloud Library (formerly 3M), Enki, Freading, and Total Boox. Audios are also available through RBDigital (formerly OneClick). Those of us that help purchase for these sources have all the Bujolds we can purchase, but I'd love to actually see your works (especially Vorkosigan series) in ebook format!

Kathy KS I should have also added to my above comments that Enki is especially strong in providing self-pub works. I believe many of them are also provided through Smashwords, although it's been awhile since I checked that.

Kathy KS https://selfe.librariescreate.com/sel... (Enki and others use this service for adding ebooks)

Lois Bujold @ Kathy --

A quick glance does not show if or how, or how much, selfe is paying the authors. Do you know?

Ta, L.

Kathy KS No, I can't answer that. I'm a retired (semi?) librarian and avid reader (and fan) that uses Enki's offerings, in addition to my other means of book acquiring. I guess I'd leave a question at the self-e site, if it were me.

Andrea Self-e doesn't pay royalties (see discussion here: https://janefriedman.com/conversation... ). Smashwords pays royalties (though does give you the option to charge libraries a special library rate if you want).

Mary Bertke Um...what all is required to get one released on Overdrive? I have time between contracts (I'm a technical writer), so I have some time on my hands, and I have Scrivener and Calibri.
