Sheryl Hill I apologize. I meant popularity relative to your other writings. I am disabled and read the Vorkosigan series yearly--falling more deeply in love with complex characters like Ethan each time. What I meant is, you have a special gift for showing how bigotry is overcome.

Ryan Ethan of Athos was the first book I read of yours. Word of mouth, yes. I saw it mentioned by George R R Martin on his blog. Or he might've just mentioned your name, but either way, same result.

Sheryl Hill Isn't Ethan a great character? So much great humor in that book! Memory is my other favorite. I love books in which people are transformed into something more by an encounter with reality. Always looking for recommendations...
