John Day Like you, i get right into the character and write as though I am that person. Thinking about the range of characters, spread over many books, none of them are similar. I supposed the extremes might be Sir Philip Stern in Espionage - London, the MI5 boss, a bit if a Sydney Greenstreet in many ways and then there is the weasely, kniving Russian born researcher in Secret Cargo. As you rightly say, is much of the joy in writing.
