Talli Ruksas It made me think of the exploding bird in Shrek

T. K. Elliott (Tiffany) It is most definitely possible. When my husband was at university, they had a problem with pigeons. The chemistry students put calcium carbide on bread. When the pigeons ate the bread, it reacted with the stomach contents, producing a large amount of gas. An expanding gas inside a non-expanding pigeon produced a sort of red mist effect.

The corpses could then be collected in bin-liners.
